Yes — completely free to download and play. There are no entry fees, no cash prizes, and no pay-to-win purchases. Tournaments are skill-based contests for XP, badges, crowns and bragging rights only.
Ranked catches are server-verified using GPS, capture time, and a live camera token issued in-app, and other anglers can flag suspicious catches for review. Cheating costs trust score, and repeat offenders lose their accounts. Casual tournaments run on the honor system for people who already trust each other.
Each body of water has its own leaderboard. Win ranked tournaments there to top the ladder and claim its crown, which appears on your profile. Hold it as long as you can — the moment someone out-scores you, the crown (and its prestige points) moves to them.
Never. Exact catch coordinates are stored privately and used only to verify ranked catches — they're never shown to other users. Your private journal and its map pins are yours alone. We only ever display general conditions like weather, never a location.
Yes. The app is not a fishing license and doesn't replace any regulation. You're responsible for holding the required licenses and following all local, state and federal fishing laws everywhere you fish.
